SBS#2 - Persephone
Here's my contribution this this weeks' theme Greek Mythology: here. I had a lot of fun doing this piece. The "Rape of Persephone" is one of my favorite Greek storys.
Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest-goddess Demeter, and queen of the underworld; she was abducted by Hades, the god-king of the underworld. The story explains why we have seasons. Hades tricked her into eating some pomegranate seeds so now she has to live 6 months in the underworld which represents fall and winter; and 6 months with her mother that represents spring and summer.
